Monthidus is a birthday celebration for people who refuse to wait.

Not your calendar birthday.
Not the one you missed.
Not the one you’re planning months in advance.

Monthidus celebrates the exact age you are on this day — and that age deserves cake.

If you’re 58 and ¾, we celebrate that.
If you’re 31 and 2 months, absolutely.
If you’re 44 and somewhere between thriving and feral, you’re in the right place.

This is a collective birthday, a playful ritual, and a reminder that we don’t need permission or perfect timing to celebrate ourselves.

Why Monthidus Exists

My actual birthday is February 17, and this year I turn 45.
Instead of letting it pass quietly, I’m stretching the celebration and inviting others to do the same — honoring who we are right now, not who we were on a specific date.

The idea for Monthidus was born years ago during a wine-fueled conversation in Bryson City, NC — before I ever moved here — when a simple question landed and wouldn’t let go:

Why do we only celebrate ourselves once a year?

So we’re changing that.
